What I've learnt about Harmony Week

What I've learnt about Harmony Week

Today marks the fourth day of this year’s Harmony Week, which if I’m to be completely honest I didn’t know much about. It got me thinking, well if I don’t know much about Harmony Week, I’m sure I’m not the only one. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and do what everyone does when they want more information - seek guidance from trusty ol’ Google. This is what I’ve learnt…

Harmony week celebrates Australia's cultural diversity, by giving us the opportunity to reflect and connect with the diverse cultural backgrounds that surround us and bind us in calling Australia home. This week represents three imperative values that each and every person deserves - inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging

These values resonate with ours here at Butter Up, and to my delight, I discovered that orange is also the colour that represents Harmony Week. Could it be fate? Or just a coincidence? I decided I’d stick with the former because not only does orange signify social communication and meaningful conversations, it also encourages mutual respect - no wonder we were so adamant about the colour orange! We at BU strongly believe in our ‘Look good, Feel good, Do good’ mantra and at the end of the day we just want to spread that good.

So on that note, I and the team at Butter Up Co. vow to embrace the values that Harmony Week represents today and each day forward, and we encourage you to join us in doing the same.
